Making Accessible DH: Universal Design and Web Accessibility
Making Accessible DH: Universal Design and Web Accessibility
Overview
Interested in creating DH projects for the web? Looking to reach an audience with your DH tool, on- or offline? Make sure you’re considering disabled users from the start! This workshop will introduce you to the principles of Universal Design and some key techniques for web accessibility. This includes, for example, guidance on offering alternatives to visual content and advice on supporting alternate navigation and input methods. Participants will walk away prepared to build more accessible DH tools and projects. No programming experience required.
